Rare Sightings
by Iain Stewart
In the last while some really interesting animals have been seen and at strange times.
Let us start with the strange sightings, a number of aardwolf as well as aardvark are still being seen during the day which is rather unusual yet great for photographs. We have identified a number of bat eared fox dens and our guests have been enthralled as they have watched the puppies playing under the watchful eye of their parents.
Another new sighting has been that of a number of chameleons especially on night drives when they show up well in the spotlight. Our buffalo are also becoming more visible with this photo taken near the luxury tented camp from a chopper.

Interesting Reading
Newman's
Birds of Southern Africa
by Kenneth Newman
This Commemorative edition of Newman's Birds of
Southern Africa at once updates a classic and pays tribute to one of the
region's best loved birding authors, the late Kenneth Newman. With the support
of bird expert Faansie Peacock, the author's daughter, Vanessa Newman, has
thoroughly revised, updated and expanded this new edition to reflect the latest
research, both in terms of text and illustrations. Covering all the birds recorded from the Antarctic to the Zambezi River,
its range includes the birds from the southern seas as well as those of South
Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho and Mozambique. |
